ENDODONTICS
Endodontics is the branch of dentistry that is responsible for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of dental pulp conditions. The pulp or nerve of the tooth is the soft tissue that is located inside teeth, this tissue keeps the tooth nourished.
When the pulp is irreversibly affected, the tooth becomes sensitive and sometimes causes very acute pains. Endodontics is a treatment performed to save the tooth and avoid its extraction.
The treatment consists of removing the pulp of the tooth and filling the duct with a bioinert material to then rebuild the tooth.
After the treatment the tooth will be numb, without the patient feeling discomfort or pain.
